Woman In Critical Condition After Bayside Hit-And-Run
A 47-year-old woman is in critical condition after a driver struck her in Bayside late Tuesday night and sped off, police said.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A 47-year-old woman is in critical condition after a driver struck her in Bayside and sped off, police said.
Nabeela Aziz is unconscious and suffering internal bleeding in her head after a hit-and-run driver struck her about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 223rd Place and 64th Avenue, according to police and a CBS2 news report.
Aziz's family told CBS2 that she was crossing the street with her husband and daughter when an SUV turned left and hit her, sending her flying down the street.

“I hope they really catch this person, whoever it is. Because the way I feel right now about the person – it’s pretty inhumane,” her son, Tamoor Tariq, told CBS2. “He hit my mom and just ran off without even checking if she’s fine or not. Didn’t even call the police, he just ran away."
Aziz was rushed to North Shore University Hospital, according to police.

The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad was called to the scene, but a police spokesman could not confirm whether the crash unit is taking up the case.
