Year-To-Year Holiday Gas Prices Jump 15.5 Percent
This week's cheapest gallon of regular can be found at BP, Gulf stations in Little Neck
Whether you're gassing up the car on the way to that holiday party on Long Island or queuing up at the pump for the traditional annual trip to Grandma's for Christmas, odds are it's going to cost a whole lot more this year than last.
That's according to the American Automobile Association's Fuel Gauge Report, which found average city regular gas prices this week pegged at $3.321, up from $2.871 a year ago — a rise of close to 15.5 percent.
The week-to-week rise for a gallon of regular petrol was much more modest, with average prices up about a penny.
