Here are the top stories in Buffalo today:
- Novi Paluch, a fashion designer who owns Sasmita Batik on Allen Street, had work highlighted at New York Fashion Week. Paluch sends 10% of all her sales to Indonesia, where she is originally from. There, the money is used to educate those in need. Read more at WKBW 7.
- November school-board elections have only one contested race. The contested race is between Jennifer Mecozzi who is seeking her third-term, Le'Candice Durham and Mustafa Abdo in the West District. Election day is November 8th, with early voting between October 29th and November 6th. Learn more at The Buffalo News.
- Next week there will be a name-your-own-adoption-fee promotion at the SPCA in Erie County. This promotion applies to cats and dogs one year or older at the Harlem Road location in West Seneca. The named adoption fee will include the animal's spray or neuter surgery, vaccinations, initial worming, microchip identification, a voucher to a veterinarian, a free bag of food, and more. - During this Sunday's Buffalo Bills game, Von Miller saw his biggest challenges of the season. He played 52 defense snaps during the game, which was 78% of the team's total. - A Kenmore doctor, 68 year-old Mark D. Fisher, has been accused to sexually assaulting two female patients in 2019. The accusation is that Dr. Fisher “intentionally and forcibly touching the intimate parts of the victim” on two separate accounts. For more information, visit WIVB 4.
