- With the incoming "bomb cyclone" storm, holiday plans have been chaotically upended. In some places where the storm has already hit, temperatures have already hit below -50 degrees. According to a National Weather Service in Minnesota, a state where the storm has already hit, “This event could be life-threatening if you are stranded.” To read more, visit WIVB 4.
- In preparation for the storm of the century, the New York State Thruway Authority announced a travel ban on the I-90 for empty truck/trailers. There is a Blizzard Warning in effect from 7 A.M. Friday until 7 A.M. Sunday. Learn more WGRZ 2.
- Buffalo Public Schools have cancelled for tomorrow in light of the storm. “Due to the projected severe weather event for tomorrow, Buffalo Public Schools will be closed on December 23,”the announcement reads. “All students and staff are to remain home. There will be no remote instruction. Please stay warm and stay safe and have a wonderful winter break." Read more at WIVB 4.
- A Buffalo man who threatened grocery store workers has been sentenced to two years of probation. The man, 34-year-old Andrew Marsh, was asked to leave the store after harassing a customer and then made threatening statements towards the workers that referenced the Tops massacre at workers before leaving. - Hoover Beach residents were ordered to evacuate by Hamburg Town Supervisor Randy Hoak. Residents had to evacuate by 8 o'clock last night. A Lakeshore Flood warning will be in effect from Friday at 7 A.M. until Saturday at 7 P.M. More information can be found at WIVB 4.

- Due to the winter storm forecast, Mayor Byron Brown issued a State of Emergency beginning at 7 A.M. today. "The State of Emergency means that people should exercise caution. It's a very dangerous storm. If you don't have to be on the roads, if you are not an essential worker, please do not drive on Friday and Saturday. We want people to stay home. We keep hearing that this is a potentially life-threatening storm," said Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown. (WGRZ 2)
