.) Buffalo Teachers Federation picketed this past Friday, asking for a fair contract. The president of the Buffalo Teachers Federation, Phil Rumore, explained the reason for the strike to reporter Revathi Janaswamy, saying “All across the city, teachers planned to march today basically because of a lack of a contract, also because of the insulting contract that they proposed, and also the fact they sprung [a memorandum of understanding] on us to try and change the starting and ending times of school.”

.) Iconic Allentown Bar, the Old Pink, has a new appearance after the city issued them an “order of remedy.” The original hue was difficult to find, so a new color has been applied. Molly Brisworth, whose family has owned the property since 1968, commented “maybe I want graffiti on my building.”
.) Spring rain followed by a hot summer did not bode well for crops going in New York State. Jim Bittner of Bittner Singer Orchards, says of the lack of rain “We irrigate most everything these days, mainly because we can't afford the risk of a dry season.”
.) Unity Mural, the mural being built facing the Jefferson’s Tops, has been delayed because hundreds of dollars of lumber was stolen. 84 Lumber in Tonawanda donated pressure-treated lumber, but it was stolen from the site before artist Gary Heard could retrieve it.
.) McCarly Gardens project is delayed due to publishing records soon enough, in violation of New York Public Officers Law. The gardens are supposed to transform a neighborhood near the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
