Here are the top stories today in Buffalo:

  1. An investment group has purchased a W. Huron St. apartment building for $1.1M. Originally built in 1880 as a hotel, it was converted to apartments soon after. It is currently unclear if the plans for the building include restoring and highlighting its historic charm or move in a more contemporary direction. (The Business Journals, Subscription)
  2. Crime Stoppers WNY is now offering a $7,500 reward for information about the murder of Monroe Cross on Grote St. Cross was killed on Jun. 20 and the investigation has reportedly halted, with little to no information available on the incident. Any tips can be called in at (716) 867-6161 or through the Buffalo Tips app. (WGRZ.com)
  3. Buffalo firefighters are under investigation after a crash and car fire hours after their graduation. Video surveillance at a local business shows a Jeep Cherokee SUV crashing into a tow truck at South Buffalo Autoparts in the 600 block of Elk Street. The fire department was called to contain the car fire. While the investigation is underway, three recruits are on administrative leave. Buffalo Fire investigators are looking into how the fire started and the Erie County District Attorney's Office is also investigating. (WKBW 7 News Buffalo)
