🌱 Buffalo Man Pleads Guilty To 2018 Murder + New Affordable Housing

Here are the top three stories today in Buffalo:

  1. 27-year-old Rickey L. Bryant has pled guilty to one count of manslaughter in the first degree. Bryant was accused of fatally shooting 35-year-old Tony D. Rookard inside of a convenience store on Doat Street in Buffalo. Bryant faces a maximum of 25 years in prison at his sentencing on Oct. 5, 2020. (WKBW 7 News Buffalo)
  2. A $2.4 million affordable housing development in Buffalo will be opening soon. Gov. Kathy Hochul says the development brings 11 affordable homes and new commercial space to Buffalo's east side. Hochul said, "Thanks to $2 million in state funding, the Cigar Factory Apartments have transformed an old cigar plant into beautiful, safe, affordable homes." The Cigar Factory Apartments include seven one-bedroom and four two-bedroom apartments, plus a small ground-floor coffee shop. (Niagara Frontier Publications)
  3. A 20-year-old Buffalo man is in stable condition after a Tuesday afternoon shooting that injured his hand. According to the police report, the shooting occurred around 4:20 p.m. in the first block of Quincy Street, off Broadway. Police say the shooting was targeted in nature. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the confidential tip line at 716-847-2255. (Buffalo News)
