- Emergency sewer repairs are taking place on Genesee and East Huron streets in Buffalo. The City of Buffalo announced the closure of Genesee Street between Washington and East Huron Street as well as the Closure of East Huron Street between Main and Washington streets. Drivers should factor in delays, alternate routes, and increased traffic. (WGRZ.com)
- A Cheektowaga mother has been charged with DWI following a hit-and-run accident Sunday evening. The Niagara County Sheriff's Office received a call just before 9:30 p.m., when it was reported that a vehicle drove through the median and damaged multiple signs. When police located the suspected vehicle, they found Heather E. Kirst, 34, and her four children under 16 inside. (WGRZ.com)
- Buffalo Public Schools will be distributing free meals to the community today, Aug. 23, and next Tuesday. Schools will be distributing seven-days worth of breakfast and lunch meals with fresh produce and dairy products from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Any child 18 years and younger may receive the meals while adults may pick up meals for their household.
