  1. Approved by Common Council on February 7, urban planner Kelly St. John is Buffalo's first climate action manager. St. John says a large part of the role is "understanding residents’ perceptions and preparedness and things like that." The role is not entirely about stopping climate change, but more so concerned with preparing the people of Buffalo for the effects of climate change. (The Buffalo News)
  2. Taste of Buffalo is taking submissions from local artists for this year's poster design. There will be a youth winner (13-17) and an adult winner (18+), each with a $500 prize. A final winner will be chosen between those two and receive an extra $500. (WKBW 7)
  3. In response to the storm, Cold Blue warming shelters opened last night. There are 10 daytime warming shelters through the city that will open their doors today. (WBFO NPR)
  4. The hit-musical "Hadestown," which is currently at Shea's Performing Arts Center, runs through February 26. Broadway World reviewer Michael Rabice says, "the cast is uniformly excellent and the onstage band is red hot." (Broadway World)
  5. The Buffalo News interviewed Dr. Greg Daniel, Trinidad-native and long-time Buffalo resident, about what financial supports are needed in the city's east side. Dr. Daniel talked about how the east side didn't see any change from Governor Cuomo's Buffalo Billion and that Governor Hochul's $50 million directly to the east side is a late start to a much larger project.
