Here are the top three stories today in Buffalo:

  1. A Washington man is facing charges after allegedly threatening to kill Black shoppers at Elmwood Ave. Tops Market. 37-year-old Joey David George called the North Buffalo grocer on Jul. 19 and 20, even ranting about a “race war,” around two months after the racially-motivated mass shooting at the same market. Investigation shows that George also called places around the country with similar threats. (WIVB.com - News 4)
  2. Two Morgan Management employees were sentenced for bank larceny convictions.
Frank Giacobbe was sentenced to one year of probation and must pay a $500 fine and Michael Tremiti was sentenced to time served and a $500 fine. Giacobbe submitted documents and information to Evans Bank that overstated the purchase price of Morgan Ellicott Apartments. (WIVB.com - News 4)
  3. A death threat has been sent over the distribution of a Buffalo shooting survivors fund. Over two months have passed since the shooting. Executive director Jeff Dion of the National Compassion Fund is the subject of a death threat. $4.7 million will be distributed to the families of the 10 victims who were killed, injured victims, and others who were impacted by October.
Dion and the National Commission Fund have been accused of holding onto the money in order to make interest on the account, which he says they do not do. (WGRZ.com)
