  1. With a $2M expansion project, Buffalo officials and businessmen are planning to bring a grocery store and restaurant to Broadway St. The project will be reviewed by the Buffalo Planning Board next week. Learn more at WGRZ 2.
  2. Buffalo judge rules that Starbucks workers must hand over all documents and recordings that they have of their conversations with the media. This is alarming to free press advocates, including Jon Schleuss who is president of the NewsGuild union. Schleuss says,"Clearly, Starbucks is violating the First Amendment of our country by trying to get access to information that is part of the news gathering process." Read more via The Buffalo News.
  3. German-based company, Aurubis, lays off employees at the Buffalo plant after an IT cyber attack last week. Over 300 hourly workers at the plant, located on Military Road, are represented by the United Steelworkers Union. It is currently unknown to the public how many workers were affected by the layoff.   4. Last night, Sabres' winger Jeff Skinner scored the 300th goal of his 13-year NHL career. “It means I’ve been around a while, I guess,” Skinner said. “But I think for me, you’re not going to score goals unless you’ve got five guys on the same page out there. Obviously it means that you had some good chemistry with guys over the years." Read more at WIVB 4.
  5. Mayor Brown announced a free schredding and clothing recycling event at Shoshone Park, at the Beard Ave entrance, on November 12th. In addition to offering recycling clothing and shredding old documents, the event will also act as a Thanksgiving food drive. For more information, visit The Buffalo News.
