Here are the top five stories in Buffalo today:
- Due to the state putting Evergreen's funding at risk, the Pride Center of Western New York and Evergreen Health have told Governor Hochul that she is not welcome at Buffalo's pride parade in June. "This is about holding politicians accountable," explained Evergreen's chief operating officer Mike Lee, "You can't take away all these resources that we depend on to serve our community and then show up for pictures in our parade." - The Raiszadeh Group, who primarily rent to low-income families of color, are facing a lawsuit claiming they do not keep their properties safe. An integral piece of evidence in this accusation is that 16 children have been diagnosed with lead poisoning while living in buildings owned by Raiszadeh. (WIVB 4)
- Staring April 3, eastbound Route 33 will be closed overnight between Best Street and East Delavan Street. Repairs will be made to the Dodge Street overpass from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM for about two months. (WIVB 4)
- As this winter ends, the Common Council is debating how to plan for sidewalk snow removal next season. Members mainly agree that clearing bus stops should be a priority of the plans. (WKBW 7)
- The International Institute of Buffalo is hosting a fundraising world trivia contest. Individuals interested in participating in the event, called "Community World Trivia 2023 – A Global Knowledge Contest," can register now. (Niagara Frontier Publications)
