Here are the top stories in Buffalo today:

1. The 17th annual Rock Out Hunger benefit will begin tomorrow, November 15th, and last until 10 A.M. on November 22nd. During that time, money and food can be brought to a Feed More WNY trailer in the Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital's parking lot to fight food insecurity. Last year, 1,100 turkeys were donated and more than $48 thousand was raised.Learn more at WKBW 7.
2. Led by local and national environmental community groups, Buffalo begins the cutting edge project of mapping the city's led contamination in home water pipes. Stephanie Simeon, Executive Director of Heart of the City Neighborhoods, says, "By sharing information about where lead pipes are located in a transparent and accessible way, Buffalo’s lead pipe map will help residents take the steps necessary to protect themselves and their families from lead exposure, including using water filters." 3. Despite polling that favored republican candidates, the parties performed as they traditionally do in Western New York. Republicans and democrats alike expected a "red wave" at the polls, but many Democrats who felt their campaigns were in danger were elected into office in Erie County. Read more at WGRZ 2.
4. Garson E. Butcher of Jamestown has pleaded guilty to distribution of fentanyl causing death, as well as other charges. Butcher now faces a $1 million fine and up to 20 years in prison. His co-defendant, Alisha Centi, has charges that are remaining pending. The fentanyl death in occurred in the March of 2020. For more information, visit WIVB 4.
5. There is a possibility for heavy lake effect snow hitting Buffalo this upcoming weekend. Currently, the lake measures at 55 degrees and is expected to be covered in a current of cold air at the end of this week.
