- After a history of redlining and disinvestment, East Side Avenues project is using state money to address structural issues in older east side buildings. Among the fixes, the program plans to patch roofs and fix leaks so that these buildings can be viable spaces again. Jessie Fisher, Preservation Buffalo Niagara Executive Director, says they have a full time staff helping people in the community with applications so the money can bespent. Learn more at WFBO.
- In response to a terroristic threat made against Hutch Tech High School, the Buffalo Police outlined their new Threat Management Unit in a press release yesterday. The unit will consist of one detective sergeant and four detectives. Read more at WIVB 4.
- The Explore and More Museum has unveiled their new inclusive accessibility playground. The playground is inside the Children's Museum, meaning it can break physical and social barriers year-round. For more information, visit Spectrum News.
- Keenan J. Redmon, a former Buffalo police officer, has plead guilty to two incidents of domestic violence. He has been sentenced to wear an ankle monitor device, and will have a curfew on weeknights. He will also be on house arrest during the weekends. Redmon was off-duty during both incidents and resigned the from the police department the same day he plead guilty. Visit WKBW 7 to learn more.
- Roswell Park has broke ground at 907 Michigan Avenue. The one acre lot will house a garden and office space for the outreach team. The space also hopes to serve as a hub for community resources in its immediate neighborhood. Read more at Spectrum News.
