Here are the top three stories today in Buffalo:
- Two people are being assisted by the Red Cross after a house fire took place early on Sunday morning. According to officials, the fire broke out on the second floor of the building just before 3:00 a.m. The fire took place at 818 South Division Street, and is estimated to have caused a quarter of a million dollars in damages. As of Sunday evening, authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. (WIVB.com - News 4)
- A 21-year-old is dead after a motorcycle crash on Route 33. According to police, just before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, the motorcyclist was traveling west when they struck a guard rail and crashed. The rider was taken from the scene to Erie County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The highway was closed for three hours following the crash. (WGRZ.com)
- Around 500 bags of groceries were handed out on Jefferson Avenue on Saturday afternoon. Open Buffalo teamed up with several other organizations to collect and distribute food to families in need. According to a representative of Open Buffalo, the event was motivated by a desire to make sure everyone is able to eat, especially when inflation is driving the cost of food so high. (WGRZ.com)
