  1. On New Year's Eve, a house fire on Dartmouth Avenue killed three children. The children were gathered for the holidays at their grandparents' house. The family can currently be assisted through donations. The two other children in the house at the time are in critical condition, and a 7-month-old baby is in stable condition. The grandmother is in stable condition and the grandfather was not home at the time of the fire. Learn more at WGRZ 2.
  2. Due to the state of emergency and the blizzard, the City of Buffalo extends the deadline for paying property taxes. The new deadline is January 13th. Read more at WGRZ 2.
  3. A man who allegedly threatened protestors with a knife while using racial slurs at a demonstration on Hertel Avenue in 2020 failed to show in court for the associated charges. He is now facing a felony charge for failing to appear in court to a hate crime case. Find out more at WKBW 7.
  4. A head-on accident occurred on Route 33 just after midnight on Sunday. The two drivers died and a passenger is in the ICU. While trying to avoid the crash, a third car hit one of the cars involved in the collision. The driver of the third vehicle suffered non life-threatening injuries.   5. The blizzard caused water damage and electrical, plumbing, mechanical and ITS system issues at Canisius College. Campus facilities are currently closed except to essential personal as the college assesses and addresses the damage. The full story can be read at WGRZ 2.
