1.) During her address at the University at Buffalo this past Wednesday, Vice President Kamala Harris spoke of climate crisis solutions related to the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act. Some of the solutions she outlined include giving families the funds to update their home’s HVAC systems from gas to electric, use tax money to reduce the price of electric cars, and build solar farms, among others. "Last year our president set an ambitious goal: Cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030. And by 2050 we will be at net zero emissions," she said. "Our nation is on track to meet those goals. But we still have more work to do."

2.) Development on the former Perry Projects in the Old First Ward is being called the “missing link” in a string of development starting at Canalside on its way to Larkinville. The development plans have federal guarantees not to displace any current residents, and include mixed-income tenants homes and green space.

3.) Funded by the Lumber City Development Corporation, two new North Tonawanda murals join the face of Buffalo. One displays a sea-monster on the side of Pulp 716 and was painted by artist Matt Duquette. The other was painted by artist Audra Linsner and shows a collage of, as she says, “all sorts of elements that make North Tonawanda what it is.” It is on the side of Project Pride Alleyway.
