Here are the top three stories today in Buffalo:

  1. A Buffalo man was killed on Tuesday afternoon in Niagara Falls. According to Niagara Falls police, the shooting occurred in the 900 block of Pine Avenue. Authorities discovered a 22-year-old man laying in the street with a gunshot wound. They attempted first aid until medical services arrived, at which point the victim was pronounced dead. (Buffalo News)
  2. An Erie County Deputy suffered an extremely serious injury during a pursuit on Tuesday. According to the Sheriff's Office, the suspect in the pursuit struck a Sheriff's Office vehicle with another vehicle, and at some point "recklessly caused a catastrophic injury to an arresting deputy's left leg." The suspect was taken to the Erie County Holding Center, while the injured deputy will undergo surgery. As of Wednesday evening, there is no further news on the deputy's condition. 3. Delaware Avenue Starbucks workers are on strike. The picket line at the store comes as the NLRB and Starbucks Workers United sue Starbucks for alleged illegal union-busting practices.
