Here are the top stories in Buffalo today:

1. The unity memorial mural across from the Jefferson Ave Tops was unveiled this weekend. About 100 people gathered on Saturday to see the mural, which reads "Cold Springs Strong" and "Long Live the Jefferson 10." The mural was organized by two strangers, Paula Connors and Gary Heard, who met at the massacre site about a week after the tragedy last spring. 2. After being shot on Saturday around 10 P.M., a fifteen year-old boy is in stable condition. The boy is being treated at Oishei Children's Hospital. The incident was a shots fired call between two vehicles. Learn more at WIVB 4.
3. Eight Days of Hope, an organization that sends teams of dedicated volunteers to places in need, announces they will extend their stay in Florida after Hurricane Ian. The organization, which has a headquarters in Buffalo, includes several volunteers from Western New York. They will be staying in Florida to provide help and resources until mid-November. 4. The Walk to Cure Arthritis raised funds this weekend with a rainy Saturday walk. Khloe Kibby, the nine year-old youth honoree, says of her experience, "my joints still get stiff, sore and swollen. I get very tired, but it's OK because I have love and support from my mommy, daddy, Eli, teachers, and coaches." More than $15,000 was raised this year. Read more at WGRZ.
5. This Saturday afternoon, Buffalo hosted a Tenant Power Summit to discuss the best ways to provide for and inform Buffalo tenants. The discussion was ran by PUSH Buffalo, a sustainable housing organization in Buffalo, NY.
