- Andrew Schnorr, a phony Buffalo attorney, received five years probation and owes over $7,800 in restitution. Schnorr never graduated from law school nor passed the bar exam. The district attorney investigated Schnorr after a complaint was placed against him for "lack of competence" and discovered he had used fake credentials to land a job at a law firm. You can verify your attorney's credentials with the N.Y.S. Unified Court System’s Office of Court Administration. (WIVB.com - News 4)
- Buffalo Police reported gunfire around midnight Thursday evening. The shooting had two known victims: a 41-year-old who died at the scene and a 54-year-old who is in stable condition at the Erie County Medical Center. - Spotted lantern flies could hit the Buffalo area any day now and officials have issued their death warrants. Larry Wozniak, a volunteer at the Buffalo Museum of Science, explains that the invasive species is extremely detrimental to trees and crops. Kim Meehan, the chief scientist at the Buffalo Museum of Science, instructs the public to report their sighting with photographs and even to put the bug in a sandwich bag with some rubbing alcohol to verify the species.
