  1. Metro Buffalo and the surrounding areas are not done accumulating snow! As we continue into Friday afternoon, people in Buffalo and the Northtowns could see around a foot, with another 10 to 18 inches hitting tonight. Saturday, the storm should move towards Niagara county, and then back to the Southern Tier. By the end of Saturday into Sunday, snow will continue occasionally, but in less drastic amounts in the Buffalo area. For today, city busses are not operational and unnecessary travel is unadvised. For a more detailed weather report, please visit The Buffalo News.
  2. As of Friday morning, NYSEG is reporting power outages in Cattaraugus, Genesee, and Wyoming counties. Residents of East Aurora, Orchard Park, and Colden were still without power this morning, while the residents of West Seneca who were without power have had it restored successfully. Read more at WGRZ 2.
  3. Mementos outside the Jefferson Ave Tops have been moved to the Buffalo History Museum for preservation. Through a partnership with the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library and Buffalo History Museum, these mementos are the first part of what will become a larger collection that preserves the history of this tragedy. Garnell Whitfield, who lost his mother Ruth on May 14th, says, "The exclusion and perversion of the history of our people in American History demands that we, in this moment, preserve and document as much as we can." To learn more, visit Buffalo Rising.
  4. Currently, the city of Buffalo has about 7.5 inches of snow on the ground. Chautauqua County has a bit higher snow totals, as do most Erie County suburbs. Find out towns' snow totals on WIVB 4.
  5. The Bills game for this Sunday, against the Cleveland Browns, has been moved to Detroit for the safety of the players and fans in light of the snowstorm. In November of 2014, a Bills game was moved to Detroit on account of the weather, but during a December 2017 storm the Bills played a home game in a near white-out. Read more at WIVB 4.
