- Tesla employees have partnered with Workers United Upstate New York, the regional organization that helped Starbucks unionize, to begin the work of organizing a union. Employee Keenan Lasch explained their motive, saying "I believe in Tesla and the goals they are trying to achieve, but I believe that the work can be just as innovative as the company itself." (WIVB 4)
- In line with the national trend, Buffalo is experiencing an increasing amount of vacancies in downtown office space. Officials are currently searching for a solution for an increasingly common issue that is, at least in part, inspired by COVID-19 and the resulting rise in remote work. (The Buffalo News)
- The Z Team of recyclers, composed of 4th graders in Frank Zawodzinski's Hamlin Park Academy classroom, are learning about civic engagement. Most recently adding cardboard to their duties, these 14-ish students collect recycling from each classroom in the school and bring it all the way to the curb for city pick-up. Marques Bellmay, one of these 4th graders, told Eileen Buckley of 7 News, that he likes the program because it "helps our community and is good for the environment." (WKBW 7)
- A woman was rescued from the water at Broderick Park after falling through ice. After police and her husband pulled her out, she was taken to Erie County Medical Center. (Buffalo News)
- This month is National Cancer Prevention Month, and Roswell Park's Dr. Kate Glaser is reminding everyone to get screened. In an interview with WIVB 4, Glaser said that, depending on risk factors, individuals should be screened at least once a year. (WIVB 4)
