  1. A Buffalo man and a teenager have been arrested on gun charges following two separate search warrants. On Deerfield Avenue, police found a loaded gun and ammunition in the possession of 18-year-old Marjon Wilson. On Seneca Street, police found a loaded Glock 9mm in the possession of 22-year-old Drequann Colston. There were no reported injuries. (WIVB.com - News 4)
  2. Funds from a local garage sale will go toward comfort kits for cancer patients at Roswell Park. Kate Backlas of Lancaster is a breast cancer survivor as well as the daughter of Nancy Beicke, who died after having cancer for 35 years. Of her mother, Backlas said, "Before she passed away, her goal was to volunteer at Roswell Park and do a project like this. Obviously, she's not able to because she's not here anymore, so I want to carry on and do what she would have done." The comfort kits will include things like puzzles, books, lotions, and blankets.   3. A Buffalo Public Schools employee claims she hasn't been paid and that she's not the only one. LaQuida Shedrick is an Early Warning Indicator Facilitator at McKinley High School in Buffalo. Shedrick has worked in the district for more than a decade and says she has not been paid for working this summer. When Shedrick contacted the district, she was told there were multiple steps to approving payment, yet received no clear answers of why her checks were delayed. (WKBW 7 News Buffalo)
