WorthPoint's Treasure Hunt at Hamburg’s Famous Halloween Market

WorthPoint, the world’s largest online resource for researching, valuing and preserving antiques, art and collectibles, is bringing its free Treasure Hunt, a can’t miss, two-day event and seminar on Oct. 16-17 to Hamburg, educating participants about how to find treasures and sell on eBay like a professional.

The event invites locals to join WorthPoint at one of New York State’s favorite antique markets, the Famous Halloween Flea Market, for a day filled with treasure hunting and education about the essentials of sourcing, valuing and reselling items like a pro. WorthPoint will also host an eBay Selling Workshop to share what tools and resources are needed to become successful resellers.

The Treasure Hunt will take place on Sat., Oct. 16, when antique enthusiasts can enjoy a morning of shopping and discovery. Treasure hunters will meet onstage at St. Mary of the Lake Hall at 4737 Lakeshore Rd at 9 a.m. The hunt will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude with a lunch show-and-tell of the day’s findings at 1 p.m. at Edies Pizza at 3850 Buffalo Street in Hamburg. During the event, WorthPoint will also have a table set up at the flea market to engage with antique aficionados and demo how to use WorthPoint’s resources.

The Treasure Hunt is free to attend, but registration is required, and space is limited. The first 50 people to register will receive a complimentary lunch, a limited-edition Treasure Hunt 2021 t-shirt and will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win $500.

The day after the Treasure Hunt, WorthPoint will host an informative and engaging eBay Selling Workshop, presented by Danna Crawford, known as eBay’s PowerSelling Mom, who has been selling on eBay since 1997 and was awarded a Hall of Fame Award from the global online marketplace.

Crawford will cover both basic and advanced eBay listing techniques, buying and selling strategies, guidance on shipping domestic and international products and tips for how best to value antiques, collectibles and art. The eBay Selling Workshop will take place at the Holiday Inn Express at 3565 Commerce Place on Sun., Oct. 17, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Snacks and beverages will be provided by WorthPoint, and eBay will give away exciting door prizes.
