Alicia Arendt grew up on Long Island; she attended Moriches Elementary School, Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School in Shirley, and William Paca Middle School and William Floyd High School, both in Mastic Beach. The Daily News reported that Spirit and Frontier agreed to a merger valued at $6.6 billion that they say will create “America’s most competitive ultra-low fare airline,” the companies announced Monday. The airlines would combine under the new deal to offer “more ultra-low fares to more travelers in more destinations across the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean,” the companies said. “We are thrilled to join forces with Frontier to further democratize air travel,” Spirit President and CEO Ted Christie said in a statement Monday.
