Here's The Next High Rise Coming To TriBeCa

Developers are knocking down a six-story building in TriBeCa and plan to replace it with a high-rise.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — A six-story building in TriBeCa is being demolished to make way for yet another FiDi high-rise, according to city records.

Contractors were issued a permit to completely demolish a building on Greenwich Street in TriBeCa last month, according to records from the city's Department of Buildings. The Tribeca Citizen was first to report news of the building's coming demolition. The existing building, located at 537 Greenwich St., was built in 1909, according to the Tribeca Citizen. The property's owner has plans for it to become a 30-story high-rise, joining a slew of fancy new buildings that have populated Lower Manhattan in recent years. The real estate development agency Cape Advisors bought the development rights for building for $5 million earlier this year. Cape Advisors also plans on giving the building a new address at 110 Charlton St.
