2 Arrested After Selling Tobacco To Minors In East Meadow: Police
The arrests came during the "Project 21" initiative, which targets the sale of alcohol and tobacco to underage people, police say.
EAST MEADOW, NY — Two people were arrested after they sold tobacco products to minors on Thursday in East Meadow, Nassau police said.
The arrests came during the "Project 21" initiative, which targets the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to minors, police said.
- Sami Al-Ammari, 33, of 1763 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island sold tobacco products to a minor at King Smoke Smoke Shop, at 503A Newbridge Road, East Meadow. He was charged with one count of second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of cannabis, and one count of sale of tobacco products.
- Kiranpreet Kaur, 21, of Queens, sold tobacco products to a minor at Smoke Shop-Pipes and Stuff, at 2384 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow. She was charged with one count of second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, one count of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of unlawful possession of cannabis, one count of sale of tobacco products, and one count of possession of unstamped cigarettes.
Al-Ammari was issued a desk appearance ticket returnable on July 8 to First District Court, at 99 Main St., Hempstead.
