Bowling Green K-Kids Raise Money to Eliminate Tetanus
The children raised $400 for the cause.

Despite the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the Bowling Green K-Kids were able to help others in need. The children raised $400 to eliminate tetanus during their recent 5th Annual Trick-or-Treat for Charity Collection Drive.
More than 35 members trick-or-treated and collected money for the cause.
The K-Kids’ charity of choice was Kiwanis International's Worldwide Service Project, ELIMINATE, which seeks to end Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT) by 2015. MNT is a preventable killer that claims the life of a newborn baby or new mother every nine minutes in 32 developing countries around the world. Since last year, MNT has been eliminated in seven countries.
To prevent the disease, mothers need a series of three vaccinations that cost a total of $1.80. Once vaccinated, a mother is protected throughout her child bearing years and passes her immunity to any child she gives birth to for the baby's first two months of life.
