East Meadow Community Celebrates WWII Vet's 100th Birthday
The community came together to hold a car parade to celebrate John Darte's milestone.

EAST MEADOW, NY — The East Meadow Community came together last weekend to celebrate the 100th Birthday of WWII Veteran John B. Datre with a special car parade outside the Sunrise of East Meadow.
Datre served in the Army and was honorably discharged in August of 1945 at the rank of Technician 4th Grade.
New York State Senator Kevin Thomas presented Datre with a Senate Proclamation honoring his 100th Birthday.

“It is an honor to celebrate this special milestone with John, his family, and friends at American Legion Post 1082,” Thomas said.
