East Meadow Native Releases New Book
Tony Denera is the author of "Joining Arnold: Rise of the Girlie Man."
East Meadow native Tony Denera released his book, "Joining Arnold: Rise of the Girlie Man" last year and recently had a sold out book signing at Barnes and Noble in Dallas, TX.
"The book is a humorous tongue-in-cheek memoir centered around the movie business, politics and I worked with both and pop-culture," Denera said. "It's also about growing up and finding one's self."
Denera said that East Meadow is mentioned in the book a great deal.
"A lot of East Meadow history is in this book and I see it as the ultimate East Meadow book," he said.

Denera grew up on East Meadow Avenue and attended McCleary Junior High School and East Meadow High School. He shared some of his fondest memories of living in the town.
"I partied on Hempstead Turnpike when the Isles won those cups," he said. "My Uncle Joe lived on East Meadow Avenue and my sister referred to him as "The Mayor of East Meadow."
He said that even though he is far from home, his hometown is always with him.
"East Meadow will always have a special place in my heart and my book talks up the town quite a bit," he said. "This is certainly an East Meadow book and is still new. I truly love the town."
