Former East Meadow Resident Turns 100
Frank LoVerde, who turned 100 on March 3, lived in East Meadow for 60 years.

Frank LoVerde, a resident at Middle Island's Oak Hollow Nursing Center and an East Meadow resident of 60 years, turned 100-years-old on Sunday.
LoVerde, the youngest of six children, was born in Brooklyn. As a young boy, he delivered ice and worked for a telephone company.
During World War II, he served in the United States Air Force from 1942 to 1945. In 1951, he married Frances M. Catania, his wife of 56 years, and moved to East Meadow.
LoVerde is the father of two sons and has five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He went to live at Oak Hollow Nursing Center in February 2011 and enjoys interacting with his peers at daily recreation programs.
