Freeport Man Caught In Stolen Car In Westbury: Police

He was found in the back seat of a 2010 GMC Acadia, Nassau police said.

FREEPORT, NY — A Freeport man was arrested on Friday after being caught in a stolen car in Westbury, Nassau police said.

Officers investigating a suspicious vehicle on Waterbury Lane near a burglary-prone location in Westbury conducted a traffic stop and saw Jose Holguin, 40, laying across the back seat of a 2010 GMC Acadia, police said, adding that further investigation found the vehicle was reported stolen earlier in the day.

Holguin was placed into police custody without further incident and was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.

He entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead and his bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond, according to online court records.
