LONG ISLAND, NY — Heavy rainfall is likely to hit Long Island Friday night, making travel treacherous.

There's a chance of the rain starting Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service, but it will definitely start Friday night.

There is one to two inches of rain expected to fall overnight, and winds could gust up to 38 miles per hour.
