Long Island Marathon Set To Run Next Weekend

The weekend-long event will feature food trucks and live music, as well as races for every skill level.

EAST MEADOW, NY — After being canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Long Island Marathon is set to run again next weekend. It will take place over three days, on Sept. 17, 18 and 19.

There will be multiple races held over those days, including the marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K and a 1K for kids. Registration is open now. You can register for any of the races by clicking here.

All of the races start in Eisenhower Park, located on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow. The 10K, 5K and 1K races will all take place entirely within the park. The marathon and half marathon will also extend to the nearby Nassau Community College campus.

There's also plenty of fun to be had after the races (or for those who aren't running). There will be a food truck festival each day at Eisenhower Park, featuring Asian, Greek and Carribiean, along with sweet treats and more. There will also be live bands playing all weekend.
