Man Drove Drunk, Crashed Car With His Young Children Inside: NCPD
Police say the man was driving drunk with his 3- and 5-year-old daughters inside his car.
EAST MEADOW, NY — An East Meadow man was arrested Sunday evening after police say he was found driving drunk with his two young children in the car.
According to police, Dave Edwards, 35, was driving a 2011 BMW M5 an East Meadow Avenue around 5:30 p.m. when he hit a 2019 Honda CRV, being driven by a 71-year-old woman, that was stopped at a red light near Jerusalem Road.
Officers responded to the accident, and no one was injured. During the investigation, police say the officers found Edwards was drunk and arrested him without incident.

Police say Edwards' two daughters, ages 5 and 3, were in the car at the time of the crash. They were released to a family member.
Edwards is charged with DWI, two counts of aggravated DWI (Leandra's Law), and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He is scheduled to be arraigned later today in First District Court in Hempstead.
