Man Hit By Car, Killed Crossing Hempstead Turnpike
Police say the man suffered severe head trauma and quickly died. The investigation is ongoing.

EAST MEADOW, NY — A man was killed Monday night after he was hit by a car while crossing Hemsptead Turnpike in East Meadow, police said.
According to police, a 34-year-old man was driving a 2000 Honda west on Hempstead Turnpike, near Merrick Avenue, when he struck another man. The victim suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police closed Hempstead Turnpike in both directions while they were investigating.
