EAST MEADOW, NY — Four-legged ghouls and goblins will be descending on Eisenhower Park later this month, as the Ninth Annual Nassau Barkfest brings costumed pets out to the park.

Barkfest is a free pet Halloween costume contest and parade that takes place in Eisenhower Park every year. This year's event is scheduled for Oct. 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater. It will be held in-person this year, after last year's virtual event.

“Nassau Barkfest has become an annual Halloween tradition for dog owners across Long Island,” said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran. “For many of us, our pets are members of our family, so I am thrilled to bring back this beloved event in-person. I encourage all residents to come enjoy this light-hearted annual event in beautiful Eisenhower Park. A special thank you to Nassau SPCA for your continued support.”

There will be 13 opportunities to win prizes that range from $50 to $150 in gift cards.
