Nassau County Holding Its First Fall Music Festival This Weekend

Three different bands will play at Eisenhower park, and there will also be a dozen food trucks and a classic car show.

EAST MEADOW, NY — Nassau County's first-ever fall music festival is coming to Eisenhower Park this weekend.

Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced that the festival will take place on Oct. 2 from noon to 7 p.m. It will feature performances from the Grateful Dead tribute band Half-Step, country music by Two for the Road and Eagles’ tribute band Desert Highway. The event will also feature more than a dozen food trucks, games and a classic car show.

“Nassau County has a world class parks system and one of the best times to take advantage of our outdoor spaces is the fall season," Curran said. "The first ever Fall Music Festival will showcase our crown jewel, Eisenhower Park, and bring us together to share the best in music and food. Bring the entire family down to celebrate the beginning of fall and a Saturday filled with great live bands, an array of food trucks and fun."

The scheduled performances are:

  • Half-Step (Grateful Dead tribute): 1 to 2:30 p.m.
  • Two for the Road (country music): 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Desert Highway (Eagles tribute): 4:45 to 6:15 p.m.

Admission is free. Residents should bring blankets or chairs, as there is no seating at the theater. Food and alcohol will be available for purchase from the county’s concession stand and over a dozen food trucks. The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is located at Eisenhower Park, field 6.
