Nassau's Water Parks Are Going To The Dogs
The county will open its splash parks up to dogs on Sept. 12 for the free "Water Bark" event.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — The dog days of summer are going to live up to their name next month, when Nassau County holds its second annual "Water Bark," turning its splash parks over to the dogs.
The county's splash parks will close for the season after Labor Day. But they will open up to four-legged guests on Sept. 12 so they can run, splash and play. The county's three splash parks — located at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, Cow Meadow Park in Freeport and North Woodmere Park in North Woodmere — will all be open to dogs, and for free.
“I am thrilled to bring back this successful event that gives our residents and their four-legged family members a unique opportunity to enjoy the dog days of summer in our beautiful county parks," said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran. "I encourage residents to take advantage of all the outdoor amenities and activities Nassau’s 70 parks and preserves have to offer.”
