Five Things You Should Know About Labor Day
It's the last day of fun in the sun at the Veterans Memorial Park pool and more.
Five things you should know Monday, Sept. 2, Labor Day:
Post Office Closed: The East Meadow Post Office located at 446 East Meadow Ave. is closed today in observance of Labor Day. It will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 9 a.m.
Last Day at the Pool: Another season of fun in the sun wraps up today at the Veterans Memorial Park pool in East Meadow, which will be open 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. today.
Sanitation Schedule: If your regular household garbage collection schedule is Monday/Thursday it will be picked up on Tuesday/Thursday this week. If your regular household garbage collection schedule is Tuesday/Friday, it will be picked up Wednesday/Friday this week.
Library Closed: The East Meadow Public Library is closed today (and has been all weekend). It will re-open on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 9 a.m.
BBQ Safety: As many residents celebrate the unofficial end of summer today with backyard barbecues, keep these barbecue safety tips in mind, thanks to the East Meadow Fire Department.
NICE bus schedule: NICE bus service changes went into effect Sept. 1. For Labor Day, all routes will be running on a Sunday schedule. Please refer to the Sunday portion of your routes' timetables.
