QUEENS, NY — A fire broke out at Lefrak City Monday morning, according to the FDNY, marking the second time since May that a blaze started at the 20-tower housing development near Forest Hills.

The blaze Monday began about 7:30 a.m. on the 15th floor of an apartment building, the FDNY said.

Fire officials quickly issued an all-hands alarm, and nearly 80 firefighters rushed to the 18-story tower at 98-38 57 Avenue, located at the northeast corner of the housing development near 99th Street, according to the FDNY.
