Block Of Austin Street Faces Demolition, Permits Show
It's unclear what would fill the block of Austin Street between 76th Drive and 77th Avenue, since building permits haven't been filed yet.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A chunk of Austin Street could soon be cleared, city records show.
Plans to demolish the two buildings sitting on Austin Street between 76th Drive and 77th Avenue were filed last month with the Department of Buildings, but are still awaiting approval as of May 5.
It's unclear what would replace the pair of two-story buildings — there are no new building permits for the block at the time of this article's publication — but the teardown plans were filed by the same people and share an owner (none of whom could be reached), suggesting that future projects on the block might be related.

The existing buildings, addressed as 76-55 and 76-65 Austin Street, both currently house medical offices and single residents, city records show.
In between the buildings there is a parking lot, which is considered part of the proposed demolition site.
