While some neighborhoods are harder to negotiate a better home deal than others, one neighborhood in Queens ranked among the best neighborhoods where homebuyers can have more negotiating power, according to StreetEasy data.
Forest Hills was ranked the eighth-best neighborhood in the city for negotiating home prices. The median asking price for a home in Forest Hills was 27 percent below the median price in the whole borough.

The median price asking price in January 2023 was $426,500, a plunge from $645,000 in the last three months of 2022.
A typical listing in Forest Hills spent 97 days on the market, four weeks longer than a year ago.

The median asking price in Queens was $639,000, which is 35% lower than the citywide median of $980,000, according to StreetEasy.
Forest Hills was the only neighborhood in Queens to make it to the list, joining Brooklyn neighborhoods like Williamsburg and Fort Hamilton.
Other neighborhoods where homebuyers can get an upper hand in home price negotiations include Midwood, Lower East Side, and Yorkville.
