FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Con Edison is asking some residents of central Queens to conserve energy amid a days-long heat wave.

Con Ed has reduced voltage by five percent for more than 116,000 people in Glendale, Forest Hills and Middle Village while crews repair equipment, a company spokesperson said Tuesday.

The work is expected to wrap up by Tuesday afternoon.

At that time, Con Ed had reduced voltage by eight percent as a precaution against blackouts.
