Forest Hills Seniors To Get Free Rides To Medical Appointments
Seniors living in Forest Hills and Rego Park are now eligible for free Lyft rides to and from the doctor's office.
FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Seniors living in Forest Hills and Rego Park are now eligible for free Lyft rides to and from the doctor's office.
The non-profit Queens Community House and the Forest Hills Stadium are partnering with Lyft to provide locals over 65 with free rides to and from their medical appointments, according to a press release.
To schedule a free ride, seniors must first register with Queens Community House's case management program by calling 718-268-1412 or clicking here.

"For a growing portion of our older population, once routine outings like going to a doctor's appointment have become monumental challenges," Queens Community House executive director Ben Thomases said in a statement.
Under the nonprofit's existing medical transportation program, seniors had to pay half the cost of the ride, and they could only travel to appointments in Queens.

Now, seniors can take free rides to appointments outside Queens.
Residents of Corona, Elmhurst and Lefrak City will also be eligible for the transportation services for the first time.
