Kew Gardens Job Fair For Seniors Returns In-Person, Lawmaker Says
State Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. announced Friday the seniors-only job fair will take place on May 5 at the Kew Gardens Community Center.
FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — As layoffs in several industries sweep the nation, older adults looking for jobs will have a chance to meet with companies in Kew Gardens for potential career opportunities.
State Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. announced Friday the seniors-only job fair will take place on May 5 at the Kew Gardens Community Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Only residents aged 55 and older are invited to the event, which will be held in person for the first time since the pandemic outbreak.

“With the cost of living in New York City continuing to rise, many people over the age of 55 are finding that they are having a difficult time meeting their financial needs and have to re-join the workforce to make ends meet,” Addabbo said.
Healthcare and retail companies will attend the fair, including New York Life Insurance, AHRC NYC, Personal Touch Home Care, the Council for Airport Security, and more.

Company representatives will accept resumes and meet with potential job candidates to discuss openings.
