With new pubs, restaurants and eateries opening in Forest Hills on an almost weekly basis, we decided to brave the crappy weather Wednesday and give a couple a try.
Second stop: Station House on Continental Ave.
Points for: solid bar feng shui. Lots of surface area for drinks without feeling crowded.
Deep bar menu
Ample choices in the well and on draft, with a menu that changes almost daily.
Points against: this place falls between identities- it bills itself as a beer hall/"whiskey den." It doesn't feel anything like a beer hall and at best it's a whiskey laundry room.
For a place that's only been open a few weeks it already has a touch of "the dank," to quote Carl from The Simpsons.
Music highlight: nice run of 60's revival blues.
Music lowlight: Bob Marley cover by some woman I'd never heard of, followed by Mumford and Sons. Ick.
Grade: A-. Not bad, guys
