Rego Park Man Pleads Guilty To Fatally Beating His Mother
A Rego Park man has pleaded guilty to fatally beating his mother in 2016, then dumping her body in a lake, prosecutors announced.
REGO PARK, QUEENS — A Rego Park man has pleaded guilty to fatally beating his mother in 2016, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
Roman Gorbunov, 24, will be sentenced to spend his next 24 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter for killing his mother, prosecutors said.
Gorbunov repeatedly hit his mother, Rego Park resident Lyobov Gorbunov, in the head after an argument the evening of Sept. 27, 2016, according to the Queens District Attorney's Office.

He brought her body to Flushing Meadows-Corona Park and dumped it in a lake, where it was found 11 days later.
Gorbunov will return to court for sentencing on July 9.
