New 'Survivor' Contestant Is From Forest Hills
A teacher born-and-raised in Forest Hills is competing for $1M and the title of Sole Survivor in the show's 41st season set in Fiji.
FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A teacher from Forest Hills is among a group of contestants vying for survival — and $1 million — on the islands of Fiji.
Tiffany Seely, 47, is one of 18 people competing on the 41st season of Survivor, which premieres at 8:00 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, Sept. 22, according to a CBS news release reported by multiple sources.
Seely, who currently lives on Long Island, was born in Forest Hills and teaches English at Jamaica Academy at Queens Alternate Learning Center, Newsday reported.

In a news release, executive producer and host Jeff Probst called this season’s contestants “a really likeable group of savvy Survivor players.”
"I cannot remember a time when I've been this excited to launch a new season of Survivor," he said, adding that the 41st season, which delayed production amid the pandemic, is shaping up to be the “most intense, most difficult, and most dangerous season we’ve ever done.”
Unlike seasons past, CBS said this season’s cast will be divided into three tribes of six — instead of two tribes of nine. Each tribe works as a group to survive, but also votes tribemates off the island.
The new season will also feature more viewer interaction, according to Probst, who said he will let fans in on game twists before the players know about them.
Fans also have the chance to play a “Game within the Game,” where they spot puzzles hidden in the episode and then solve them, People reported.
"We know we have the most loyal fans of any show on television, and we are pumped to bring them a new, exciting season of Survivor!" Probst said — though fans will have to wait a little over three weeks until the contest begins.
