Van Wyck Expressway Exit Ramp To Close Overnight This Weekend
The Van Wyck's exit ramp to westbound Grand Central Parkway, which runs near Forest Hills, will close overnight Friday due to construction.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Getting to Forest Hills — or any part of central or northwest Queens — from the Van Wyck Expressway is going to be a bit more complicated this weekend, the New York State Department of Transportation is warning drivers.
The two-lane exit ramp from the northbound Van Wyck Expressway to westbound Grand Central Parkway — which continues north through Queens to Manhattan — will close at 10:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, weather permitting, the transportation agency said in a news release.
The ramp should reopen as usual at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, the NYSDOT said.

Drivers can instead take Exit 11, towards 69 Road/Jewel Avenue, and follow the signed detour, to get to the Grand Central Parkway during these closures.
The closure, which is the second this year, is part of a project to demolish the old eastbound Grand Central Parkway ramp to the westbound Jackie Robinson Parkway, which runs through the same intersection.
